My personal headcanon Kalter Krieg Scenario: Reichspact: Germany still won the second Weltkrieg but was beaten to within an inch of its life before the Entente and Transmur helped turn the tide (>50% surrender progress). Milltleattrika exploded and Germany East Asia surrendered to Japan leaving Namibia as the only Colonial holding left. Even the Kieser himself fled when things seemed hopeless, leaving the SPD to take over as the German Republic. Donau-Adriabund Austria-Hungry reformed into the Danbian Federation, lost the 5th Balkan War, joined the Reichspact and then proceeded to help decimate the Russians on the Ukrainian Front. Victory in the WKII has brought a sense of pan-national unity to the state, and it now has the freedom to turn its eyes back south. Belgrade Pact: The Balkan nations have formed into a respectable minor bloc with a united Yugoslavia, Greater Romania, reconciled Bulgaria, Kamalist Turkey, and puppeted Greece (long story) all managing to finally find a way to work together. However, there is brewing tension between the members, as while Bulgaria, Romania, and Turkey have all shifted towards democracy, Yugoslavia has slid into authoritarianism, even bringing back King Peter II. Entente U.K. returned and began working to reconcile the exiled population and the UoB population. while proclaiming the end of the British Empire and the birth of the British Commonwealth. France did pretty much the exact opposite and the military had to take over to prevent the nation collapsing yet again. France also joined Mittleuropa while still being in the Entente, leading to France becoming the center of a tug-of-war between the Entente and Reichspact. New England dipped when Canada refused to give them regional autonomy, delivering the 2nd Declaration of Independence and going on to help the Pacific States win the ACW2. Most of the old Dominions noped out the Entente before or immediately after the war. Only New Zealand, the West Indies Federation, Natal, and Rodesia remain. Argentina, Brazil, Central America, Spain, and Portugal now form the backbone of the Entente. Transmur captured all land east of the Urals, rebranding itself as Free Russia (or East Russia), and joining the Entente, becoming the second source of tension between the Entente and the Riechspact. The San Fransico Accords After reconstruction, a democratic U.S. focuses on the Pacific, delivering the final blow to an overstretched Japan, forming the San Fransico Accords (econ bloc), and remaining completely ambivalent to European affairs. The left-leaning Farmer-Labor party also gained enough notoriety to become the 3rd mainstream U.S. along with the pro-business Republicans and right-wing Democrats. Well the I think the point is pretty much not trying to start World War 3. Theres several ways and very easy to do so and if you do, atom bombs start dropping. Plus it's still very new. I think it has a lot of potential.

If I was in charge, I would've made a few more interesting changes especially since I noticed that some of the decisions the mod makes are based on not fully wanting to dedicate to certain outcomes that Kaiserreich would've resolved before 1945. Like China and the US not having a clear victor in their civil wars. I could elaborate, but it would be a TL;DR situation that I don't think many would read or respond to.

China would have historically beaten Japan with or without help. The main reason Japan lashed out on the allies in the pacific was because they were slowly loosing in China and were lacking resources to even attempt to pacify them. The allied assistance surely did help hasten the war but Japan was already stretched thin, stalemated and slowly loosing their entire youth.

Some else that makes it less interesting as a cold war is that theres little of the ideological conflict between the two power blocks its just semiconstitutional monarchy vs constitutional monarchy. In our and tnos cold war one sides victory over the other means the death of their way of life yet here its just trading one king for another, its something i have a hard time believing both sides would be truly willing to wage a nuclear war over.

It doesn't make sense that the scenario that they present in here with the winners and losers would even result in a Cold war. Ideologically, the Entente and the Germans were basically the same. The borders that they have drawn don't make sense from a "preserver the world order" sense that the Germans would want, and despite the horrors of the First Welt Kreig, the effort to win the Second Welt Kreig would have likely resulted in a lasting alliance. I mean, both primary governments are basically just right of center constitutional monarchies that have a progressive liberal movement that both of their respective monarchies would be inclined to support once the dust settled, and the Austrians would have been encouraged to continue to support that as well. None of this mod's lore makes any sense!

the biggest issue ive found in hoi4 is just the ai and industry/trade. the ai is in dire need of some sort of fix it just tends to get itself stuck a lot with endless retard wars or with countries like mexico, italy, ussr and bulgaria they always lose civil wars and just get stuck on generic focuses kinda ruining the whole point with playing with historical off. like what you said the industry scales way too fast, its concernedly easy to outscale resources. something like a resource stockpile could be cool instead of just have a set amount of global resources. also the idea of contracts to other countries is a 10/10 idea especially if countries had more unique equipment.

The mod could be interesting as a nontraditional cold war mod, where there are several factions fighting for dominance rather than one, where wars are more likely and things can get hot real fast. For example if Russia was reworked into stalemating and signing an armistice where the starting borders are kept (instead of being forced to hand the land over after besting Savinkov) while a pro and anti-war faction battle it out then it could serve to counterbalance Germany, joining the entente if WW3 breaks out. Likewise the AUS could be revisionist and seek to restore traditional US borders while Japan could serve as an opportunist power in Asia. Also Germany should have several paths, with the canon route being one that is divergent from the entente's liberalism, while there should be potential chances for syndalicism to return in places like Britain or France, to throw a spanner in the works. Finally decolonization should be optional, with a right-wing Germany more prone to digging in while a liberal Germany may want to pave the way for African independence.

Another change to the lore I would suggest is going the Exiled Germany restoration route, where the Germans are pushed out of Europe by Russia and the Internationale. That why they're basically in the same boat as the Entente as they're both wartorn factions that just returned to their homelands.

They ruined Kaiserreich when they took the most interesting thing in the game, Syndicalism, and threw it in the garbage. A stable radical government that isn't mired in Marxist-Leninist dogma and traditional Russian authoritarianism? That has so much potential to be interesting, but apparently, despite it being a staple and the lore says the syndicalist governments have lasted for decades, it was unrealistic. Unrealistic compared to a society where women can't even own property? Ridiculous. Everyone's supposed to be okay with it until the King, of all people, makes a speech, and goes off message? That's bad. I didn't even realize it was that bad until I sat down to watch your video. The closest thing we get to a return to syndicalism is a "maximist" revolution in the UK if you intentionally fail all the minigames. But, there's no content. Even with all the bugs fixed and content added for the game, I have zero hope because they just started on the wrong premise from the very beginning. I'll play it, but zero hope.

Even though its a cold war mod it needs more flavor, it just feels like its "go there on that civil war, finished? great, do it again in another place" and I think that some things that could be really interesting is well, helping the sick man of europe last against a revolution, more difficulty and logic, honestly I feel that the brazilian-argentinian war was just pushover, also as a brazilian it doesnt make sence a part of RS be free since well, at one point all the state was free, and there isnt really any other change there so im pretty sure they just did that to not say that South america was the same thing as vanilla, also it would be cool a system where you need to actively negotiate to keep peace as in the actual cold war, also the logic doesnt make sence, austro hungary alive? as one state? the ottoman empire existing as turkey? I bet they wouldn't give up land to survive and would die,russia giving free land is just unimaginable and civil wars just got no flavor, no logic, no context, its just target practice for someone good, So I would recomend give it a backstory since lets say all we know is that revolutions are happening and that the entente is made of deadweight, explain what happened and make unique focus trees, like in brazil you could develop and explore our numerous revolutions, the cangaço, and dive in similar ways to other countries histories like USA, maybe after countrywide protests against war the protests turn violent and radicalism rises, the central government survives and maybe a group,lead by macartur could try to revive the "true usa" and restore freedom and make the american dream come true, maybe also needing to pay attention to mitteleuropa or they turn against you in a third weltkrieg, also maybe you could see action in a italian civil war or italian balkanization because of the regionalism, maybe an second spanish civil war, dive into salazar dictatorship (portugal), since argentina is making an war against brazil chile could ally to brazil to take tierra del fuego or more, maybe countries take advantage of wars and enter, maybe iraq enters syrian civil war to get influence, bolivia tries to get their land back, after the decolonization of mittelafrika we could see the newborn country go for an madagaskar hurt by fights for independence,china tries to get to their qing dinasty territories, a great northern war, maybe an situation like the cuban missile crisis, central asian people rise up against russia, all this with events could make a more interesting cold war and a great mod! i mean china irl dealt quite decently with japan and had barely any western involvement until pearl harbor so assuming the western powers kept the oil and iron/steel embargo on japan china would probably win

The bit i disagree with most with the mod, is Japan losing to the Fengtiang clique (pretty sure its Fengtiang). Japan absolutely wrecked a more powerful China historically when they were on the backfoot against the Americans, but somehow they lose to a less established Chinese government when they have no western powers to threaten them. When I first saw the maps, with no real lore background on Asia, I assumed the Beiyang government was just Japanese controlled China, unfortunately that they arent.

Tbh I have a lot of suggestions for the devs: •Start At a later date like maybe 1962 like TNO? •Make a Better Europe like a Full Entente-Reichspakt victory, the Russia stuff is boring so maybe an occupied Western Russia while Having Warlords to the east •Have the USA Be United by The Federal Government to Counter Germany •Add More Smaller proxy wars but actually Include ways to get really involved •Make the ideologies further apart, Like Make Germany Go Full Auth Monarchy while the Entente Fall into Liberalism

They barely managed to survive 4 years in WWI where they had significantly more land and more powerful allies (however bad Austria, the Ottomans, and Bulgaria were they were much more useful than the Italians, Hungarians, and Romanians), but when Germany's in a weaker state it somehow lasts longer?" As weird as it sounds, extremely militarized states last longer and are more devastating in a war than less militarized states, and when that militarism is powered by extreme revanchism (as is sure to be the case, especially for Russia) that's going to be all the more the case.

Another issue with the Kalterkrieg setting, in my opinion, is that Entente v Reichspakt just isn't a very interesting setup. There are ways to make such conflict interesting, but it's a lot harder because they're both pretty uninteresting. They don't offer fundamentally different visions for the future, it's liberal capitalist monarchy vs paternalistic capitalist monarchy. If one succeeds over the other, what impact does this actually have for the people of the world? Compare this to TNO, flawed liberal capitalism of the OFN vs LITERALLY FUCKING HITLER vs cold pan-ideological pragmatism of the CPS, that's a pretty noticeable difference. Hell, there are other Kaiserreich Cold War scenarios I've seen floating around online, such Third International v Moscow Accord scenarios, which already make a far more interesting and dynamic setting as those are two fundamentally contradicting visions for the world. In comparison, two inbreds fighting just isn't all that interesting.

Man sets up an absolute monarchy and then complains when the absolute monarch uses his absolute powers to liberalize the nation without his consent.

Look at this cool cold war scenario. We have reactionary monarchism with a weak liberal legislature vs reactionary monarchism with a weak liberal legislature, and an even more reactionary faction, but they aren't monarchist (But aren't that different from the aforementioned monarchists). Cold war scenarios are fun when the audience has a reason to care about the outcome, while all side have their quirks that create interesting dynamics internally, and especially in relation to other factions. This mod is exploring what if the most boring outcome happened. No offense to the mod team, since this mod is answering the question of what the world might look like if an already established series of factions from Kaiserreich had this outcome in the context of Kaiserreich. For all the cool scenarios for a Cold War in a post WW2 Kaiserreich world may look like, there would eventually be a combination like this, which is really boring.
